Couchsurfing in Safranbolu

From Ankara we headed north to see the UNESCO-protected town of Safranbolu.
It was clear that Ramadan had ended, because every driver bought us food, without even asking if there is more room in our stomachs or not....

So when arriving to Safranbolu, it was first time when it happened to us that we had to refuse someone's invitation for a meal.

Safranbolu is a little town, which attracts with its beautiful Ottoman Empire architecture and Silk Road history.

Our CShost Mohammet took good care of us.

Mohammet also introduced us to Nasreddin Hodja, who is a great turkish/persian/greek wiseman.

One funny story of him is as follows:

One day, a thief came to the house of Hodja and took everything he had except the blanket which covered him. When Hodja saw the thief carrying all his things away, he put his blanket over his shoulders and followed him. When the thief arrived at his own house, he turned back and saw Hodja. “What are you doing here?” he asked. “What am I doing here,” said Hodja, “you ask a thing like that? Didn't we move to this house?”

And last, but not least: Finally Branko's biggest wish in Turkey become true and he has now picture of him and Ataturk - the Big Father of Turks
